the Boxfresh brand name was inspired by the early New York / hip-hop terminology for a pair of trainers being literally "fresh out the box". Boxfresh started in market stalls in East London where it's first products were customised Tee shirts, sweats and jackets. Boxfresh later became known as the "Original British Streetwear brand", and was acquired by Pentland in 2006.
